At Featherstone we strongly believe that every student should be sufficiently challenged and supported to achieve their very best and that their successes are celebrated. We are working hard to develop the best possible provision for all our able students.
The agreed Gifted and Talented register, using baseline data and in consultation with middle managers, ensures that our top 5 to 10% students at FHS are being targeted and monitored.
Parental meetings have taken place at KS4 and KS5 giving parents and pupils the most up to date advice, information about pathways choices and academic mentoring offered.
Our third exciting annual Student Learning Conference in March inviting years 7 to 12, are where outside speaker and outstanding teachers, will explore and delve deeper into our theme inspiring aspiration.
FHS students applications to summers school have been increasing to Russell Group Universities. Our belief is by widening participation we will raise both aspiration and attainment. In the sixth form, the academic tutor works closely to make sure that pupils are developing key skills with their extended project.
Finally at FHS we are keen to keep pressing forwards to make sure that all our Gifted and Talented students are being continually challenged and stretched in their lesson. We are eager to develop the best possible provision for all our able students.
