Social Inclusion Department is an integral element of the pastoral system at Featherstone High School. The team includes five Learning Mentors, each attached to a Year Group.
There is also a Lead Learning Mentor and the department is overseen by the Assistant Head for Access and Inclusion.
Learning Mentors work with pupils on a one-to-one and group basis to remove barriers to their learning. These barriers may include:
● Low confidence/self-esteem
● Lack of motivation
● Anger management
● Peer pressure
● Low attendance and family issues
Our primary aim is to enable all pupils to realise and achieve their potential.
