Science
Science is taught at KS3, GCSE (Combined Double Science and Triple Science) and as an option at KS5 (Applied Science, A Level Biology, A Level Chemistry and A Level Physics).
Students learn to develop practical and enquiry skills which include using a range of scientific methods and techniques to develop and test ideas and explanations. Students learn how to work safely in the science laboratory, planning and carrying out practical and investigative activities, both individually and in groups. They will be encouraged to develop a critical understanding of evidence and to evaluate scientific evidence and working methods.
Pupils are taught Science in a variety of ways such as through independent research where they have to explore and discover information for themselves, helping them to develop their research and planning skills. They also carry out practical investigations collecting their own primary data.
